Welcome to J. Baldwin Wines Zinfandel & Petite Sirah from Sonoma Valley.
The first mountain vineyard in Northern California was planted nearby in 1857. During these early years, Nelligan Road was the stagecoach route to Napa Valley.
We believe that wine is made in the vineyard with minimal intervention in the winery. Meticulous attention to the vines, lower yield and merciless triage at harvest will produce distinctive wines, reflecting their complete habitat: altitude, soil, sun exposure and microclimate.
Wine is an essential element in any cuisine, and the rich agricultural tradition in Sonoma Valley is an important contributor to the cuisine of the Bay Area. Zinfandel, America's heritage grape, has been planted in this valley since the mid-1800s. We strive to make a worthy contribution to that tradition.
